Taxila Pakistan is situated 35kms away from the capital Islamabad. In the earlier times, Taxila in Pakistan was famous for its art and philosophy. It is now among the most visited tourist destination in Pakistan. Most of the archaeologists from all around the world come to this place for their research work. Taxila is rich in the Gandhara sculpture and showcases the Buddhist heritage that attracts a lot of tourists all around the world and especially the people from the Central Asian countries.

A visit to the town of Taxila in Pakistan can be very interesting for the tourists as it represents the traditions, art and culture of the country and also about the Buddhism culture. The city dates back to the Gandhara period and contains the ruins of the Gandhāran city of Takaśilā which was an important Hindu and Buddhist centre, and is still considered a place of religious and historical sanctity in those traditions.
